Jesus is my one true love.

I was born and raised into a gospel-singing family.   We traveled to all corners of the continental United States, bringing encouragment through song to believers in churches, schools, campgrounds, prisons and nursing homes.  That history inspired a love of Jesus, people, nature, and travel in me.  From a young age I learned to appreciate the wonders of God’s creation and loved to simply look out the window as we drove countless miles across the country.   I am so greatful for those years of family ministry and traveling.  They are the foundation for each of my heart’s passions.

One of my favorite pasttimes is looking at old family photographs with my Dad.  We would often pull out the boxes of photos when we were temporarily home between singing tours.  I loved the portraits and candids, but the old pictures of Grandpa’s trip to Yellowstone and Dad’s random sunset prints caused me to wonder if it was possible to capture the miracles of God’s creation on film.  When I was around 12, my parents gave me a small 126 film camera that took beautiful photos.  It was later, when my Dad blessed me with a Nikon SLR that the real joy of photography came to life in my heart.  I still strive, often unsuccessfully, to somehow capture the majesty of our Creator in His creation.  Perhaps one day I will succeed in such a way that the photograph takes my breath the same way a spectacular sunset causes me to stare in wonder.  Until then, I hope you enjoy my ramblings and the attempts I have made to remember moments of Jesus revealing himself through His beautiful creation.
